I have never become the fine artist I wished to be, my talents do not stretch so far.
I look in awe at skilled artists and hope that repeated efforts in this life may yet bear fruit in lives to come.
Some people appreciate my efforts and I have sold many prints, in various sizes and on various materials over the years. I only sell by direct contact, so please contact me, if you wish to purchase any of the art works, posted on this web site from time to time. I am also available if anyone wishes a particular type of ‘Bird’ to be painted on canvas. I look forward to learning about your favourite bird!
For decades the only drawings and paintings that occurred, when I sat at a blank canvas, where either Horses or Birds. I seemed to have little control over this, although I often wanted to paint Big Cats, like Panthers, Lynx and Cheetahs. When I dotted the final ‘white light’ into their eyes these birds or horses would appear to ‘come alive’ for me and I could imagine their personalities and even their conversations. Whilst engaged in the painting, of every bird species I have ever painted (and there have been more than a few) it seemed the birds were teaching me, not only about themselves and their lives, but about fundamental truths of nature. My favourite bird species, so far, is the Swan. Swans are not only elegant and beautiful, but swim, fly and walk, are aggressive only for protection and mostly vegetarian, mate for life and are fiercely loyal. I wrote a song about a swan couple who lived on a lake, on the Croft I owned in the Shetland Isles. She had broken her wing and her partner stayed back when the rest of the Bevy flew away. He stayed with her, performing training flights, over the lake, for some weeks, before finally flying off after his family. I cared for her through the Summer and in the Autumn her partner returned. When it was time to fly off again, the following summer, to their breeding grounds in Iceland, she was healed and they flew away together.

A caterpillar happily munching through the green leaves of his/her life, completely unaware of the wondrous life to come.
Fallen Angel
Soft white feathers drifting through the air.
Soul Feathers
A Soul. released from incarnation, travelling to higher realms.
Bee Eaters
Beautiful birds, who eat a far more varied diet than bees alone, but do like to spend time close to Bee Hives. They treat them as a full larder!
Swallows
A common but wondrous sight, here they are in their nest with young complete with voracious appetites, under the eves of an old Portuguese house.
